FTTX technology reaches customers

euromicron systems GmbH was again commissioned by the cable network operator NetCologne GmbH with planning and implementing a turnkey fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) network. As a result, NetCologne has confirmed euromicron as general contractor with responsibility for upgrading parts of the CityNetCologne to create a highly efficient network infrastructure based on optical fiber.

NetCologne customers connected to the high-speed network benefit from bandwidths of 100 Mbit/s: Transfer rates and speeds that internationally only few customers are offered by their provider.

euromicron systems has been working for NetCologne to expand the CityNetCologne since 2007. The fact that we have been commissioned again as general contractor for more than 1,500 buildings in Cologne-Braunsfeld and Cologne-Sülz South is confirmation of our FTTX know-how: “We are proud to be playing a major part in expanding one of Europe’s most cutting-edge broadband cable networks,” stresses Thomas Hoffmann from euromicron AG’s Executive Board. The follow-up order was confirmed to the responsible branch office manager back in April.
